What Moves the Hours Up or Down
- Density: scattered saplings clear fast; a wall of multiflora rose and grapevine takes longer
- Tree size: under 8″ mulches standing; bigger trees take handling
- Terrain and access: open, dry, reachable ground is cheap ground
- Goal: park-clean takes more passes than a hunting trail

Equipment Delivery Fee — Same for Every Service
- $150 — out to Steubenville, about a 15-mile ring around the shop
- $200 — double that ring, about 30 miles out
- $250 — the third ring, about 45 miles out
- +$50 — any job in West Virginia or Pennsylvania, because we pay extra tax to work across state lines
That fee covers loading, hauling, and setting the machine on your ground. Farther out than the third ring? We quote it — and Dale will travel as far as you want when the number works for everybody. Your exact fee is agreed before anything is scheduled.
Stump Grinding Is Priced Separately
Stumps are priced per stump by size, not by the hour — from $325 for stumps up to 12 inches, with additional stumps at the same property running $150–$300 each. The 4-hour minimum does not apply. See the full stump grinding price list →
The 4-Hour Minimum
Every mulching and clearing job carries a 4-hour minimum — four hours of machine time at $250. Why: hauling, loading, and setup cost the same whether the job is one hour or ten, and a real block of time means your property gets finished work instead of a rushed pass. Small job? Most folks use the balance of their four hours on the fence line or overgrown corner they’d been putting off. The exception: gravel driveway restoration is priced per job — no hourly meter, no minimum — and typically costs about 1/3 of new gravel.
Typical Jobs
- Fence lines and small cleanups: often a few hours
- Residential lots and defensible space: half a day to a full day
- Pastures and multi-acre clearing: one to several days
Every property is different — these are honest ballparks, not promises. The free estimate turns it into a firm number.
Trip Fees, Up Front
Close to home there’s no travel fee at all. Farther out, the equipment travel fee is discussed and agreed before we quote the work — sized to your distance from Bloomingdale, Ohio and the size and scope of the job. And distance isn’t a wall: Dale will travel as far as you want him to — Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and all around Ohio — whenever the fee is agreeable to all parties.
