How much does land clearing cost?
It’s $250 an hour (4-hour minimum) for machine and operator. Most residential jobs run from a few hours to a couple of days depending on how thick the growth is and how easy the access is. You’ll get an honest estimate before we start — free.
Are there hidden fees or fuel surcharges?
No. You pay when the machine is running, not when it’s cold. No fuel up-charges, no equipment fees, no bait-and-switch.
How much does stump grinding cost?
Stumps are priced by size: $325 up to 12 inches, $375–$425 for 13–24 inches, $450–$600 for 25–36 inches, $600–$850 for 37–48 inches, and starting at $900 for anything bigger. Additional stumps at the same property are just $150–$300 each. Minimum charge is $325, and the 4-hour minimum does not apply to stump work. Full price list →
What is the equipment delivery fee?
Every job carries an equipment delivery fee — $150 out to Steubenville (about a 15-mile ring), $200 at double that ring (about 30 miles), and $250 at the third ring (about 45 miles). Add $50 for any job in West Virginia or Pennsylvania — that’s the tax we pay to work across state lines. It covers loading, hauling, and setting the machine on your ground, and your exact number is agreed before anything is scheduled.
Do you charge a trip fee?
Only when the job is a haul from our shop. The equipment travel fee is discussed and agreed up front — based on your distance from Bloomingdale, Ohio and the size and scope of the work — so your total cost is settled before we ever load the trailer.
Is there a job minimum?
Yes — all mulching and clearing work carries a 4-hour minimum (four hours of machine time at $250). Loading, hauling, and setting up a machine costs real money before the first tree drops, and the minimum makes sure every job — including yours — gets a genuine block of work, not a rushed drive-by. One exception: gravel driveway restoration is a flat per-job price — no minimum — and typically runs about a third of what new gravel would cost.
How big of trees can the mulcher take?
Trees up to about 8 inches in diameter get mulched standing. Bigger trees can be dropped and processed or worked around — we’ll walk it with you at the estimate.
What happens to the brush and trees?
Everything is ground into mulch on the spot and left as a ground layer. It stops erosion, chokes regrowth, and feeds the soil. No burn piles, nothing hauled away.
Will it tear up my yard or fields?
No. The machine runs on wide tracks and the mulching head works above the soil — no ripped topsoil or root craters like a dozer leaves.
Do I need a permit?
Usually not for mulching, because we don’t grade or disturb soil — but it varies by county and township. We’ll help you check before work starts.
How far will you travel?
As far as you want us to come. Dale works across Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and all around Ohio — and he’ll go farther for the right job. The equipment travel fee is discussed and agreed up front, based on distance from Bloomingdale and the size and scope of the work; if it’s agreeable to all parties, the machine goes on the trailer.
